Group 1: Universal Design for Learning EPV Summer Course (1 - 12 July 2024)

“Learning is as unique to individuals as their fingerprints or DNA”. (Hall et al., 2012). As our classrooms become increasingly diverse, our teaching practices must also adapt to reflect the changing landscape. Teachers will have an opportunity to reflect on the diversity of their students and gain a good understanding of the Universal Design for Learning framework and how it can support diverse learners and promote inclusive pedagogical approaches. This course supports teachers to redesign some elements of their teaching and learning practices based on their knowledge of UDL principles.

We created this EPV course because we believe that teachers need upskilling and further support in meeting the needs of all students. Through supporting teachers create positive, inclusive learning environments and hone their skills in this area, we can make a positive impact on student classroom experiences and learning outcomes.

We are passionate about professional development for teachers and have worked with over 15,000 teachers since 2017. As a teacher, you are the most important person in the classroom – you make the greatest impact on the students in front of you.

We designed this online CPD course to build your confidence in what is a growing area of pedagogical research and practice.

What is included?

Universal Design for Learning is an EPV-Approved Summer Course (pending approval) which comprises of 10 hours online learning and 10 hours of offline self-verified learning.

This EPV course has 5 modules:

• Introduction
• Multiple Means of Engagement – the ‘why’ of learning
• Multiple Means of Representation – the ‘what’ of learning
• Multiple Means of Action & Expression – the ‘how’ of learning
• Embedding Universal Design for Learning

This EPV Summer Course (pending approval) provides you with an opportunity to reflect on your current practice and make an action plan to bring forward to the new school year. There are opportunities to collaborate and learn from peers and share ideas with one another in a safe space. Your learning is supported by your Professional Tutor and the Rahoo team to ensure a smooth process.

Upon successful course completion you will receive your EPV Certificate.

Group 3: 29 July – 9 August 2024

Summer Courses must be completed in the allocated time-frame.
